FIRE DESTROYS PROPERTY WORTH MILLIONS IN NKPOR ANAMBRA STATE

A three storey building at nkpor junction in Onitsha Anambra state was razed down by fire. The fire

which started around midnight Monday was said to have caused by chemicals, stored in drums in one of the flats.

The fire spread to other buildings which were close to the main building before the fire service men came to their rescue.

Chairman of the Red Cross Society Professor Peter Katchy disclosed that during the fire out break, a lady jumped from the storey building but fortunately for her ,she sustained only injuries and she is receiving treatment in the hospital.

He then warned residents against keeping flammable substances inside their homes to avoid fire out break. Some of the victims whom their flats where razed down by the inferno said they lost property worth over 3 million Naira, calling on the state government and good spirited nigerians to come to their rescue.
