The National agency for food and drugs administration and control NAFDAC has slammed Guinness
Nigeria with 1 billion Naira fine. This was as a result of Guinness Nigeria inability to adhere to the recommended good manufacturing practices procedure.

The agency conducted a routine check on Guinness factory in Ikeja and came back with unsatisfactory result. According to the agency, they found out that some of the raw materials used in producing the drinks were found in an unhygienic environment and were exposed to rodents.

Some of the expired goods were found to have been re-validated. NAFDAC is yet to make an official statement on the development and will do so in no time.

Managing director of Guinness Nigeria plc, Mr peter ndegwa reacted on the issue, he says that the said raw materials store is not a production facility and that they are engaging NAFDAC for clarification and resolution of the issue.
